A studio painting inspired by a walk in the fernery at Kingston Lacey, Wimborne. In late winter while the ferns lie dormant and before the canopy of leaves cast their shade, the many varieties of snowdrops here are abundant and carpet the borders.
I painted this piece from a small location sketch and reference images taken on the day.
